Hitachi Rail’s New CEO
Following a recommendation off the back of our 15 videos produced at the Rail trade show InnoTrans, Hitachi Rail asked us to come with them to Genoa to film the new CEO of their company ahead of his first day.
The Project
The goal for this video was to film a message from Giuseppe Marino, the new CEO of Hitachi Rail, that would give his 10,000 employees assurance and hope that he is committed to driving forward a successful future for the company.
In the production process, I handled all logistics from travel and accommodation to filming permissions, sourcing suppliers and client comms for the duration of the project. It was my role to make sure that everything was in line for the trip with a crew of 4x while also remaining on budget.
I was on set in Genoa to direct the CEO on the day and to make sure we were hitting the brief to convey the hopeful and inspiring message that his team were after.
Once we returned to the UK, we were on a tight timeline to deliver the final edit with the subtitles translated into four different languages, Japanese, Italian, French and English. This took extensive planning from my side, taking into account the varying time zones while allowing time for proofing and final approvals - staying on schedule with the production timelines was crucial to make sure that the video was ready to be launched on Giuseppe’s first day as CEO.
I found this project super fun because we got the chance to travel out to Genoa and it was a great opportunity to meet more people within the Hitachi Rail group!

While in Genoa, we had some time to explore the city to capture some B-Roll and of course, check out the local cuise of pesto pasta which Genoa is famous for!
